My five year anniversary of starting my weekly comic is approaching and I’d like to take time to reflect, which is not unlike my daily reflection practices. I started making a weekly comic right after my grandma passed away. I had always wanted to create comics, but only made a few throughout the past couple of decades. When I started making them more consistently it was a way to create something while working through life issues. Then it grew into more.
I thought it would also assist with other parts of my life once I left my job. Learning how to draw and other mixed media, this was a perfect opportunity to practice. As the years went by, there was a struggle to continue some weeks. My creativity wasn’t always flowing; didn’t think people enjoyed them; and other projects were started, and needed some additional time to complete them. After time management and realizing that although I do want this to be for others, it was mainly for myself. I needed an outlet and a way to express myself. I wasn’t finding anything that clicked with me, and so here I am. Hundreds of comics in with the additions of animation, paintings, dying, and other artistic formats. I’m sure this will end at some point, but I did renew this site for a few more years, so let’s hope I can continue pushing myself to learn & progress.
Ah yes, I also have been working on my game more. Figuring out how to organize everything and going through the development process, albeit tough, has been a lot of fun. Look out for an incoming page with progression for the game once I get more art done for it.
